What makes an interesting blog?

I think that the most interesting blogs usually share something that is unique to the person writing it and they always include photos (visuals are key!). For example, if the blogger is a foodie - instead of just saying "this is a recipe I like" and posting some recipe, they go ahead and make it, post photos of them making it, and then add their own tips to it. Likewise I find that the mom blogs I keep coming back to are those that simply blog about their daily life, their experiences, and supplement it all with great photos.

I agree - visuals are a wonderful extra to any blog. As far as blogs about experiences, etc. it's always good too to actually "include" the reader as if in conversation, instead of just having the reader drawn in and reading about you, they like to feel as if they are an actual part of the post entry. Also if you can include something that the reader can actually use (for example, a food blog that offers recipies on a cute recipe card that can be printed out), this adds to the enjoyment of the read.

So personality and photos are something that draws you in? Interesting. What kind of subject matter?

Definitely. Subject matter really depends on the person of course, but I am into foodie blogs (I cook almost all meals from scratch), I enjoy reading about other parents' parenting experiences, attachment parenting, and photography blogs (those bloggers that are really good at taking great photos).
