LOL! I was referring to British sitcoms. And Monty takes the cake either way. : )

This is a no-brainer! Monty Python's Flying Circus! It seems like The Independent Film Channel has them on in marathons a lot. Many of these are episodes that I have never seen since they were not part of the PBS episodes that used to broadcast in the US during the late 70's.

I prefer the original THE OFFICE to the American version, though I think the American version has some great strengths now that it's run several seasons. However, NIGHTY NIGHT and PEOPLE LIKE US brought me some great laughs, too.

I thought Absolutely Fabulous was really funny when it came out, though it's aged at little now!
