Who is the best male/female team-up of Classic Hollywood films of the 30s through 60s?

Clark Gable and Joan Crawford Bogart and Bergman Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers of course and into the 60's I would add Paula Prentiss and Jim Hutton.

Yep! I looked up Paula and Jim -- I may put some of their films on Lunch. com. I already posted "The Honeymoon Machine."

The first duo that came to mind is the same one that's the most popular on here- Hepburn and Tracy.

Have to go with Hepburn and Tracy. Those two were so entertaining and some of their on-screen battles were classic. Bogart and Bacall were just plain suave.

Spenser Tracy and Katheryne Hepburn had amazing chemistry. Just check out Woman of the Year and some of the others they made. Honorable mention to Judy Garland/Mickey Rooney and Bogart /Bacall.

I know that "best" is subjective but when it came to comedy, I have to say the private eye husband & wife team Nick and Nora Charles (William Powell and Myrna Loy, which kicked off several sequels and a TV series in the 50s!
