With Tony LaRussa's claim that the loud crowd prevented him from getting up the pitcher he wanted in the bullpen, one has to wonder why Baseball still uses a wall phone to the bullpen. What about texting? Football coaches wear headpieces to communicate to their players. What technology should baseball embrace immediately?

Internet connections between the dugout and the bullpen. That way simple texting can take place between them

A two way? But, it might have the same results....with texting the coach may miss out on the text message or not able to hear the text alert. Maybe they could have some sort of IM system where the coach could check the screen in the bullpen and the owners/managers can just enter the message they want to relay. Is there a need for privacy for these conversations? That may make that option a bit difficult....
