Stan Lee. He turned around the whole genre. Lest we forget Julie Schwartz and Simon & Shuster.

I'm only familiar with Schwartz for his editing and not so much as a writer. My top 10 would be thus: 1. Denny O'Neil 2. Alan Moore 3. Stan Lee 4. Marv Wolfman 5. Will Eisner 6. Chris Claremont 7. Art Spiegelman 8. Bill Finger 9. Neil Gaiman 10. Jerry Siegel (I couldn't stop at just 10) 11. Frank Miller
