Although his stories haven't been very interesting as of late. Batman still remains as my favorite superhero. There are more then enough older stories to choose from if you would like to learn why The Dark Knight has been a fan favorite for decades.

Batman is one of the few DC characters that I continue to truly love to read and watch, whether in films or TV shows. I believe you already know how I feel about DC heroes being too "super" and not human enough, but Batman is the most human hero I've ever come across.

Good tip, very true. I've been a fan since Adam West, LOL! I have been reading up on Scott Snyder and some fans are really excited about his current Batman run. I have ordered Batman: Black Mirror because of its excellent reviews. Have you read Snyder's Batman stories? Here's the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Black-Mirror-Scott-Snyder/dp/140123206X

I can barely remember the Adam West Batman, but I became a serious Batman fan after Year One. Snyder's run has been interesting so far with Black Mirror being one of them. I enjoyed what bit I read of American Vampire.

I like his stories when they are under an arc or a graphic novel. Wayne is a pop culture icon indeed.

Back when Superman created the concept of the modern superhero, DC Comics had no idea that someone else might ever come along and smack the idea of a superhero upside the head. They figured this immortal, all-powerful, all-moral guy would be able to coast along on its one-track catch-bad-guys story forever. I'll grant that that's pretty much exactly what happened, but DC has had to invent some trippy things in order to keep Superman fresh and interesting. Some, like Smallville and the stories told …

The single greatest comic book superhero of all time. Created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger and making his first appearance in Detective Comics, Issue #27 published in 1939, Batman is easily the crowning achievement of the superhero genre. He's one of the most iconic characters (perhaps second only to Superman himself) and he's had some of the best artists and writers work on his multiple comics titles over the years.      In terms of character, Batman is …

Hes Batman. He's awesome inspite of the fact that his namesake is a flying rat.

About this topic

Wiki

Batman (originally referred to as the Bat-Man and still referred to at times as the Batman) is a fictional comic book superhero co-created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger (although only Kane receives official credit) and published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939). Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy industrialist, playboy, and philanthropist. Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child leads him to train himself to physical and intellectual perfection and don a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in the fictional Gotham City, assisted by various supporting characters including his sidekick Robin and his butler Alfred Pennyworth, and fights an assortment of villains influenced by the characters' roots in film and pulp magazines. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime.
