I really did not know how to make out of this title, but I expected much more. It seeks to close the gap between the first KICK-ASS series to the more recent KICK-ASS 2. While I understood, and I have to admit it had its own merits, it also does nothing new and feels completely unnecessary. It fails to immerse and generate any sort of suspense, the only fun time it had was when HIT-GIRL was bashing brains in and killing people. The violence was strong but feels more like a gimmick than part of its narrative.
Not sure how Millar could've come up with something this uninspired, but the art was strong enough to carry it through. Still a low point compared to the original Kick-Ass series. Millar needs to go on a different direction if he wants to continue this franchise. [2.5 out of 5 Stars]
