Seinfeld was smart enough to surround himself with a great ensemble cast and a plethora of bizarre recurring and one-off characters, making his character that much more funny.

As George Costanza described him when he was in a bad mood, "funny guy!" But Seinfeld has nothing different or unique to contribute to the American comedy circuit. His humor is standard observational stuff, delivered in standard tones. His show was a breakthrough masterpiece of dark humor which was translated in a brilliant way from an act which is ordinary.
