Warren Olney is the host of To the Point which airs on NPR daily and is a one hour news program that focuses on the hot-button issues of the day. To the Point is a wonderful program and I am continually impressed by the manner in which he conducts it. You can bet that the topics being discussed are the most important and timely topics of that day and the guests are some of the most knowledgeable people on those subjects. This week, the program covered the conflict in Gaza one day and the banking crises the next. After listening, I felt that I had a deeper understanding of both issues.

As a moderator and interviewer, Olney manages to bring out the best in his guests. When they are rambling or unclear, he deftly steers them back on topic. His questions cut right to the heart of the issue and he also demonstrates great diplomacy moving from one guest to another when those guests hold conflicting positions. Additionally, he possesses the knowledge necessary to fully grasp the sometimes complicated issues being discussed which allows him to craft the best discussions. Simply put: I feel smarter when I have the opportunity to listen to his program. Thank you Mr. Olney.

Great review! Having a personal relationship with Warren, he is an outstanding man and I also feel smarter after my time spent with him. You can hear the present day's show and past shows through the KCRW website, also available on podcast: http://www.kcrw.com/news/programs/tp His other hourly show, Which Way, L.A.?, is similar with a local Southern California focus and can also be found on the KCRW site...
