This replaced the earlier, crummier sounding (a common flaw for many first-generation CD from LP versions) CD releases in my collection, and these in turn of the LPs I'd played to death from when I'd bought them in the 70s.The difference, for such a studio-obsessed band, is especially important.      But, the lack of bonus tracks, the scattershot liner notes in the booklet, and the fact it basically duplicates the actual records makes it more redundant nowadays, when …

Great collection of Steely Dan's work from their first album to their 7th with a few pieces here and there and some great liner notes too. Should have had more outtakes, alternate song takes and other unreleased work to make it great.
