This CD is a compilation of Rolling Stones rarities. Some are good, others are a bit butchered. Out of Time is a great song but is marred by the string arrangement that gets way too much emphasis in the intro and the instrumental break. The alternate take on Heart Of Stone is too country flavored. Somehow it just does not sound right for a pop/rock flavored tune from the sixties. Also too many songs just feature Mick, a little bit of Keith, and session musicians. Should this even be classified as the Rolling Stones?

Highlights, there are several. Love the way the Stones cover the Stevie Wonder tune, I Don't Know Why. Great singing by Jagger and an awesome guitar solo by Mick Taylor as well as some super keyboards(probably by Nicky Hopkins). Downtown Suzie is another well arranged tune and Family has a cool mysterious air about it. The other tracks feature some catchy parts from each of the different Stones.

An interesting collection for sure. However, there are so many other CD's to get before this. Certainly not essential but intriguing in spots.
