While many could argue that this isn't Van Halen's best album, it's definitely in the top three. "Van Halen" was a landmark album for its time and still is today. It introduced the world to the guitar wizardry of Eddie Van Halen and unleashed David Lee Roth onto the music scene. This is a groundbreaking Heavy Metal debut from this party hearty band. Eddie Van Halen alters the style of hard rock guitar playing with his numerous whammy bar effects and dive bomb noises. Eruption is a frequent guitar solo played by many guitarists of other bands during the course of a concert.
