With Teeth is the fourth studio album by American industrial rock act Nine Inch Nails, released on April 27, 2005 by Interscope Records. The album was produced by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and long-time collaborator Alan Moulder. Reznor ultimately described the album as "13 songs that are friends with each other". More specifically, he has indicated that the album is highly influenced by his battle with, and recovery from, alcoholism and substance abuse. This album generated three singles: "The Hand That Feeds", "Only", and "Every Day is Exactly the Same", which all became number-one singles on Billboards Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. With Teeth is also one of only nine albums to have three number-one singles on the chart.

I still remember the last months of my junior year in high school (April-May 2005) and I know “The Hand that Feeds” was being played like crazy on the radio. Even though this was a time when I had no interest or knowledge of the industrial genre, I was still turned off by how bad that song was. Looking at this album now, I have to laugh like mad at the title “With Teeth.” The title is supposed to imply that this is something gritty and harsh, while this is really …

"Toothless" would be a more appropriate title for this album.  With an album title like "With Teeth," you'd think that you're getting a ferocious industrial album, but this is about as ferocious as a toothless teacup chihuahua named Tinkerbell.      I remember hearing "The Hand That Feeds" being played to death on the radio in April and May of 2005 and to be honest, the rest of this album is more or less the same (terrible, tame pseudo-industrial …

With Teeth sounds like a soundtrack for a broken heart (exception being The Hand that Feeds). Tracks like Only, All the Love, Beside You in Time and Everyday is Exactly the Same are deep, moody and dark songs about broken relationships, disillusionment, self pity and loneliness. When I first listened to the album I really didn't think the songs were all that great. But after experiencing some of these events a year later I started to enjoy the album.  Trent Reznor was going through some major …

OK - this album is mostly what you'd expect from NIN/Trent Reznor - it has lots of harsh industrial rhythms, searing synths, overdriven guitar riffs, pain-inducing vocals, and generally lots of sonic assaults that will resonate with you if you are feeling very angry or alienated - and will give you a headache if you felt peaceful before the album came on. But then Trent has a few flashes of melodic, wistful soundscapes woven into tracks like the opener and then yields the best NIN song to date with …
