In my opinion, the Marvel character of Thor is one of the most creative of the Lee/Kirby team. They took a well established character thousands of years old, gave him the dialog of a god and made him know humility. What do others think?

When it comes to Lee/Kirby, Fantastic Four wins hands down. They created a team that have no secret identities and they also have internal strife amongst themselves. Back in 1962 this was very innovative.
I agree. I've been following the character on and off since Thor's appearances in the magazine "Journey Into Mystery." Stan and Jack were expert at creating this mythology. At the present, several new writers are doing pretty good too.
I did enjoy J. Michael Strazynsky's run (he's the scriptwriter for the Babylon 5 series many years ago). Currently there is more chatter about Thor. Current comics have Asgard on Earth, the gods resurrected after a major disaster and a new number one issue for Thor is now on the stands (I went to the comics store just yesterday and saw this).
Also there is a new movie coming out that does not look too bad from the trailers. And I'm sure as a result of the film, the original Jack and Stan issues of Journey Into Mystery will increase in value. Thanks for a great question!
