Wiki

Brett Favre (born October 10, 1969, in Gulfport, Mississippi) is an American football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He was the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers between the 1992 and 2007 NFL seasons and the New York Jets in 2008. Favre started at the quarterback position for The University of Southern Mississippi for four years before being selected in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons (33rd overall). After one season with the Falcons, Favre was traded to the Green Bay Packers on February 10, 1992, for the 19th pick in the 1992 NFL Draft. He became the Packers' starting quarterback in the fourth game of the 1992 season, starting every game from then until his retirement in 2008.In 2008, Favre came out of retirement, was traded to the New York Jets, and continued his consecutive start streak. On February 11, 2009, Favre told the New York Jets that he was again retiring. There is currently talk of Favre playing for the MN Vikings for the 2009-2010 season.

Favre is statistically one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Favre is the first player to win the AP Most Valuable Player three consecutive times (1995–97). He led the Packers to seven division championships (1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2007), four NFC Championship Games (1995, 1996, 1997, and 2007), winning two (1996 and 1997), two Super Bowl appearances, winning one (Super Bowl XXXI). He holds a number of NFL records including: most career touchdown passes (464), most career passing yards (65,127), most career pass completions (5,720), most career pass attempts (9,280), most career interceptions thrown (310), most consecutive starts among NFL quarterbacks (269; 291 total starts including playoffs), and most career victories as a starting quarterback.

I am tired of hearing his crying for the last two years, retiring and then keeping teams and fans uncertain as to the direction of their team.  I am glad Aaron Rodgers have made the Cheeseheads forget him.  He brought his crying act to the Jets and thankfully he didn't come back so they could move on with Sanchez and are a legitimate Super Bowl contender.      People keep calling him such a great all-time quarterback especially in Green Bay.  People there must …

He loses significant points for the texting scandal and the constant farewells that wasted everyone's time. By the time last year's football season began, I was actually thinking a strike would be useful to wake him up to the fact that his time was over. But I always did enjoy watching him play; he appeared to take a real joy in playing football, like a little kid. And I'm a Bears fan!

Is this guy really retired? My goodness, he's had more farewell tours than KISS, and I like KISS!

This guys stock has dropped rapidly since his 2009 farewell game with the Vikings. I just hope his retirement is for real this year so we can move on with a Farveless NFL.

The Terry Funk of pro football who just can't stay away or always teasing a retirement. Used to think he had the best arm in NFL but the worst aim, I realized that it was the Packers who let him down when he went to go play with what might have been the antichrist to a Packers fan and that was the Vikings, though the Bears would have been as bad.

My cousin's theory is that Brett will retire 4 times to match his jersey number.

The annual reminder that football season is about to start...    Brett Farve, "I'm retiring, until training camp is over, then I'm going to 'think about it' during preseason, then I'd like to come out of retirement for the home opener."    His agent should spare us the drama and get those terms added to his contract. He's fun to watch, he wins games, and he sells tickets. If no team excepts those terms... THEN announce your retirement.   As for me, I would really like …

Pretty amazing player for 40! Last year he made the Vikings proud, hope he'll do the same again this year.

Brett Favre has lots of class and heart but he's second to my Drew Brees!
