Patrick Ewing > Wiki

Pat Ewing played for the New York Knicks from the time he was drafted in 1985 until September 2000, when his services were traded to the Seattle Supersonics. During this period, most basketball insiders rated him as the best jump-shooting Center in the league. And by the time he retired from the Orlando Magic’s team, his career statistics included a respectable 21 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game: which is only a shade beneath double-double.

Some of Patrick’s major achievements and professional accolades as a basketball player are as follows:

1.       NCAA Men’s Basketball Champion (1984)

2.       NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player (1984)

3.       College Player of the Year (1985)

4.       Adolph Rupp Trophy (1985)

5.       2-time Olympic Champion (1984 and ‘92)

6.       First Overall Draft Pick (1985 by the New York Knicks)

7.       NBA Rookie of the Year (1986)

8.       NBA All-Rookie Team Selection

9.       Selected to All NBA First Team (1990)

10.   6-time All NBA Second Team (1988, ’89, ’91, ’92, ’93, and ‘97)

11.   3-time All NBA Defensive Second Team (1988, ’89, and ‘92)
