It will save your life if you allow it to penitrate your mind.

My emotional 'reaction'  to this book was actually more of an understanding, and more importantly, an awareness of  "presence".  I felt very calm and present while reading this book, which actually created an experiencial quality to this inquiry.   Typically most books like this read like advise, so you learn what you 'should' do, instead of the actual 'hand-holding' experience of bringing you there.  In addition, it is staggering …

I admit I was skeptical when I first picked up Eckhart Tolle's book. Skeptical but a little hopeful as well, if that is possible. I had just started on the hunt for some inspirational books, having decided that I needed to make some personal changes to better my life. At the same time, considering he was Oprah's newest darling, I wasn't so sure that I was interested in what would surely be a "spirituality for the masses" message.      I was pleasantly surprised. …

Personal transformation is no joke when it comes to this book. A New Earth presents a lot of the same material and philosophy as The Power of Now, Tolle’s previous book, but in a new format. A New Earth contains many example of how to apply the principles of awareness to your daily life. It helps convey the information in a concrete way that is easy to understand. This book has undeniably changed my life for the better. I read it during a summer when my boyfriend (now my fiancé) and …

What I gleaned from reading Eckhart Tolle's A NEW EARTH is confirmation of things I know:      1.  The voice in my head is not who I am.      2. The Kingdom of God is within.      3.  I can connect to the beginning of everything. (I can't do this on command, but there are times when it feels like I am there.)      4.  Life will give us whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of our consciousness.   …

Ok, I liked the book. Because it felt very familiar. It is a collection of Buddhist thoughts and teachings with a new twist. I also think Eckhart explained some of those thoughts in a way that resonates with me. When I read some books on Buddhism I got the feeling that the purpose was to just be, in the now, that's it. I got the feeling that sitting on a street corner with no job or food would be okay, because I was in a deep state of "being". Luckily I never took it to that level. But Eckhart explains …

I really like the concept behind inspiration cards. I have a few different decks now. I tend to have them sitting beside my computer. Each day, I pick a card and use it as reminder to ground myself, be true to my genuine self, and stay in the moment. Sometimes, I pick an extra one or two when I'm having a difficult day or just need to re-center myself.     I've read The Power of Now. I have yet to read A New Earth. Something within The Power of Now really resonated deep within …

"The only thing that ultimately matters is this: Can I sense my essential Beingness, the I Am, in the background of my life at all times?" - Eckhart Tolle    When Oprah Winfrey chose Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth as one of her book club selections, thousands chose to read his book in order to quench their spiritual thirst, answer questions about suffering, end conflict and discover their True Essence--awakening to their life's purpose.    Now, as a reminder …

A good follow up to The Power of Now. I wrote the following review about TPON and here it is repeated, but additional comments.    Reading this book was like a condensed version of the many classes I have attended from my spiritual teacher. Eckhart Tolle presents difficult to comprehend subjects in simple to understand language. However, do not expect that this "easy read" will result in instant enlightenment. He sets the basics down, it is up to the reader to absorb and act …

"Ego is a conglomeration of recurring thought forms and conditioned mental-emotional patterns that are invested with a sense of I, a sense of self. Ego arises when your sense of Beingness, of 'I Am', which is formless consciousness, gets mixed up with form. This is the meaning of identification. This is a forgetfulness of Being, the primary error, the illusion of absolute separateness that turns reality into a nightmare." -- From the book    I have several books, decks and audios …
