   Not the typical John Grisham novel but one of his best.      If you haven't read Grisham because you are not into courtroom drama or mystery, you will have missed out on one of the greatest novels of the 20th century if you don't read "A Painted House"      Grisham did an excellent job of developing his characters as he has done in many of his works, but in this coming of age novel, the characters stay in your mind for …

John Steinbeck is one of my favorite all-time authors (The Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden).
