Even if you grant the author some poetic license, the claim made in the title is still overboard. The word "anything" is much too broad a term and the time frame is too restrictive. Most of the greater achievements in life are long-term, requiring more than a year to conceive, plan and execute.    The book is segmented into 365 items, one for each day of the year, and they are composed of a quote as well as text. In general, the advice is good but vanilla, rarely being more substantial …

The cover of the book should be redesigned. Otherwise, the  contents are interesting and engaging. The author presents  a wide collection of sayings that point toward the overall  goal of accomplishing a meritorious task of one kind or  another. For instance, faith is a good initial step to be  followed by specific choices. Dale Carnegie is interwoven  throughout some parts of the book.    " Whatever you can do, or dream …

When I first started reading this book, I expected it to be like most other books in the self-help category: unrealistic to a fault, full of useless advice, and ultimately apologetic for its shortcomings. From page one I was pleasantly surprised to find out that none of the above qualities are present in it, and that the fluff so common to this type of work is also absent from this volume. And although its purpose is basically that of every other self-improvement book out there, mainly to facilitate …

It's very easy to decide that you want to change your life. It's so much tougher to actually make the changes. Yes, you can plan and goal set but we all know that after a while we get tired, bored, or frustrated. Before long, the plan falls apart.     Staying motivated and focused is the key. Achieve Anything in Just One Year provides a bit of motivation for an entire year. For each day there is an inspirational quote. The author then explains the quote and presents a little …

Achieve Anything You In One Year is a very motivational book. It is designed to be read one page at a time for every day of the year, but I did not do this. This book is a guide book for life. I can go back and reread the quote and the assignment for any day of the year to get motivated to get the most out of my time. Jason Harvey should have divided this book into sections according to subject instead of days. It would have made this book easier to read.     I like Dale Carnegie's …

No, this is not just another self-help book (though it is most definitely from that category of literature). Without a lot of hoopla at the beginning of this very exciting book, author and life coach Jason Harvey seemingly sits down at our side and very supportively whispers 'take charge'. He almost leaves it there - 'Maybe you ought to take a long hard look at yourself and commit to small changes every day' - but he doesn't. After a very brief introduction which amounts to a series of questions …
