As I was reading this book, i was reminded of something Oprah Winfrey once mentioned on her show - "in life, you will keep coming back to your mistakes, until you find the solution - fix them - only then can you move on".

While Arlen is not quite in the similar vain, as I was reading, I kept thinking how can one person (actually i keep thinking soul) can live through so many difficult experiences and survive -without giving in or giving up.

Of course, through our main characters experiences, the message is clear - you can do it if you believe AND if you get the help and (divine?) guidance that you need. This book was actually quite inspiring - if a little scary. However, I liked the message - believe and don't hesitate to seek help wherever you need it.

The writing was engaging - although I have to admit that, at times, there was alot going on and I was getting lost between the dream life and the reality (or was it the other dream life?).

I liked this book because it details a life that is hard but not impossible to live - with grace.

Not quite clear on how the book was created i.e. autobiographical? wishful thinking? combination? nonetheless interesting read.
