Before I Fall is a stunning debut, and I'm excited to see Oliver's work in the future.    To put it simply, Sam is not a nice girl. She's mean, and follows her friends' examples, no matter how immoral it is. At the beginning, I was rolling my eyes, because I've seen her type before. Yet, somehow, I ended up liking her. At times, I even related to her. By halfway (maybe even earlier), I was rooting for her. Sam's character development is amazing, and it surprised me how quickly …

Samantha Kingston's life is perfect. She has everything from the looks to a coveted spot in the in crowd to a gorgeous and popular boyfriend. February 12 should be just another day in her life filled with school, friends, and family, but instead, by fate and bad decisions, it's the day she dies. The thing is, though, even though Sam is dead, she wakes up the next day. But the deadly car crash was no bad dream and instead of being February 13, it's still February 12, and Sam has to relive the last …

"They say that just before you die your whole life flashes before your eyes, but that's not how it happened for me. "    It's February 12, Cupid Day at school and the day that Samantha Kingston plans on doing the deed with her boyfriend Rob. The day starts off like any other - she drives to school with her three BFF's. The four of them rule the school. They are the most popular, the one's with the hottest boyfriends, and the one's that every girl in school wants to be like. They're …

I actually finished Before I Fall several days ago but have been mulling it over for this review ever since. I think what I wanted to say a few days ago is not precisely what I'll say now, and possibly if I wrote this review sometime in the future, I'd have something else entirely to say then. But for now, it is what it is.    The premise of Before I Fall is riveting: senior Sam Kingston is a member of the popular crowd at her school, has a hot boyfriend, and is seemingly cruising …

Oh boy, this book, this was a tough one to figure out for me. I started reading, liked the style but was a bit concerned that the same day repeating 7 times might get a little old, I had heard it didn't, but sadly the first 3 days turned out to be very similar in my mind. I gave the book a break for a few weeks and picked it back up. Luckily the days started to become more different, Sam began to speak her mind and shake things up and I was a bit more hooked. More characters were explored, Sam started …

Don't let the size of this book hinder you from reading it. Yes it's almost a 500 page book but believe me it's a page turner and you won't want to stop reading. There's a lot that goes on this book and it can be a bit confusing at first as to where it's all heading but once you get sucked into the story, you don't want to get out of it. I didn't like Samantha or her friends at first. They are the Mean Girls of their school, the popular girls who get what they want and everyone pretty much has to …

The book was well-written but because of the main narrator I almost didn't finish it. I had to put this book down many times. I disliked the main characters. They were just so shallow, bitchy, and annoying.     The idea that a person could relive their last day of their life seven time was just so fascinating and original. It kept me captivated. I was glad that Sam could make changes to the last day, but I don't know if she was dreaming that or if she actually got seven chances. …

I have been incredibly lucky lately with the YA that I am reading and I have to say that Before I Fall is one of the most touching, heartwrentching novels I have read in a long, long time.     Our main character Samantha has it all - looks, popularity and a guy that would do anything for her. She is living the "it" life and is pushing her luck! As she prepares to go to a Friday night party, she gets into an accident and dies. But what does die is her physical body - and her soul …

Friday, February 12th should be just another average day for popular, beautiful Samantha Kingston. But it's far from it--her ride home after a late-night party ends in a car accident, only when Sam wakes up, it's Friday, February 12th again. Forced to re-live the last day of her life seven times, Sam struggles to understand the meaning behind these experiences and the significance in her own life and actions. Because only when she can get her last day exactly right will she ever be able to take …
