Blood Types, Body Types and You by Joseph Christiano ND, CNC
explains how to eat food to match your own blood type.
This information is critical because eating incompatible
foods will disturb the speed and efficiency of the

Our bodies get the required energy from food through
normal functioning of our metabolism. The chemical
reactions in the body cells convert the fuel from
food into energy requisite to performing every kind
of activity . Metabolic disorders involve abnormal
chemical reactions in the body's cells.

Most disorders of metabolism are an outgrowth
of either abnormal levels of enzymes or hormones.
When the metabolism of body chemicals is defective,
a buildup of toxins in the body may be the result.
Christiano explains in detail how to modulate
the metabolism so that it performs optimally.

For instance, Blood Type "A" individuals need to eat
foods like lentils, salmon, broccoli, escarole,
cranberry, celery juice and chamomile. Foods to avoid
are beef, crab, American cheese, eggplants, banana,
wheat germ, orange juice and beer. Eating these foods
will interfere with normal metabolic functioning.
Similar explanations are provided for the remaining
blood types.

There are specific actions recommended; such as having
10 ounces of water with squeezed lemon at breakfast.
Eating 3 hours before bed is not allowed. Digestive
enzymes should be consumed with each meal.
Christiano recommends drinking one half the amount of
water in ounces corresponding to your weight.
For example, a 200 pound person needs to consume
100 ounces of water or about 12 glasses.

Phasing in exercise and weight training is another
important part of the daily routine. Christiano
provides examples of how to accomplish this task.
In addition, the evolution of lean muscle through
diet and exercise facilitates permanent weight loss.
Another portion of the book explains how body type
impacts the required daily regimen.

Readers are encouraged to avoid refined foods
and white sugar. A minimum of 30 grams of soluble
fiber must be consumed each day to facilitate the
discharge of poisonous toxins in the body. The advice
is sound although the details in implementation
should be discussed with your physician and other
medical providers; such as nutritionists.
The presentation is easy to read and understand.

I had no idea that there was a correlation between food and blood type! Surprisingly and embarrassingly enough, I don't remember my blood type. Will have to call my mom tonight :P Thanks for sharing this, J. Very interesting!

Everyone should know his or her blood type. The contents of this book should be discussed with a professional nutritionist. Unfortunately, most physicians have very little in the way of nutritional training in formal medical school.
