A fascinating journey circumambulating the periphery of America, using only the "blue roads" on the map -- the back roads through small, nearly forgotten towns. I lived near enough to "Old Dime Box TX" to know where it is! A gifted storyteller, William Least Heat Moon will have you in awe of this amazing country we live in -- from the back roads.

I must begin by saying that I have not finished this book. I am currently working on reading it. It's a rather thick book, in fact. That said, I discovered this in 8th or 9th grade, when I was made to read an excerpt for school.
