In `Breaking Dawn,' the fourth novel in her Twilight Saga, author Stephanie Meyer does the geometrically impossible. She negates the angst-ridden Bella/Edward/Jacob triangle, converting it into a rather off-balanced rectangle whose fourth side is revealed before the first half of this hefty 700+ pager plays out. After channeling Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Bronte's Wuthering Heights (Barnes & Noble Classics) with an adequate amount of emotive success in her first three books, Meyer creates …

Pros: Edward and Bella live happily ever after...     Cons: ...the book makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.  The entire story is a "con" (read review).     The Bottom Line: This book is absolutely dreadful.  I've read fan fiction that was better.     Spoiler Warning: This review reveals major details about the book's plot    I read all of Stephenie Meyers's Twilight books within a span of about a week last …

After the fourth we've finally come to the conclusion in the Breaking Dawn series...or have we? I just can't see Step Meyer ending with this one. I'll try to write a review with as many spoil free moments as I can. We are all familiar with this series and with Step Meyer's writing - the series is full of break-neck twists and high-speed turns and the same holds true for book four....maybe even more so. So let's hop in the sports car and see where she takes us.     Throughout …

The big day has finally arrived for Bella and Edward. Wanting more than anything to become a vampire, Bella has promised Edward that she will marry him before he changes her. Their first few weeks of marital bliss are suddenly cut short by a mind blowing surprise that neither of them saw coming. Now both Bella's and Edward's families are on the verge of being destroyed and all hope seems lost.      Stephenie Meyer's fans have long been waiting desperately for this conclusion …

There's a unique kind of charm to the Twilight series. It comes mainly from being a series that has created a charming world. By taking the vampire and werewolf mythology and turning it into something better and even, to an extent, human. In Twilight we were introduced to Edward, a mystery figure who turned out to be a vampire. In New Moon, we were introduced to Jacob, a Werewolf, and we learn that both of them have strong affections for Bella. Eclipse may have been the first mishap by creating …

5Cclip_filelist.xml"> This is the fourth and final book in the Twilight Saga.   I am not going to say too much about the details of the story as any small mention could spoil a whole lot.   All that has happened in the previous three books has been leading up to this fourth and final one.  All that Bella, Edward, Jacob and the others are and will be comes to a head in this tale.   I know this book was/is very controversial.  People loved it or hated it.  I have to admit, …

For me, this was my least favorite of the series. The book felt "off" from all the other books. The character traits were off, the voices were off. There was too much time spent on certain plot lines and not enough on others. The ending was a disappointment after the huge build up. I was just expecting much more.     A disappointment, but at least "I know" what happened to the characters, I suppose *laugh* I dunno, just not what I was expecting, but worth a read for the fans :)

I sincerely hope that this is not the last book in the Twilight Saga.  I definitely did not anticipate the direction this book would take (and I probably would have balked had I known before reading this), but I liked it. A lot.    The shifting to Jacob's POV was not my favorite, especially since Leah is such an annoying character, but it wasn't for too long. I had hoped that we might get a section from Edward's POV, but I guess I'll just have to wait for Midnight Sun

I think it must be the hardest thing to write a book that becomes an unexpected phenomenon. Suddenly all eyes are on you, the author, to repeat the small miracle of language and creativity and craft that let you speak to so many in such different ways. And repeating that sort of magic is no easy task.    'Twilight' remains my favorite book of the series, though 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse' both had a lot of good going for them as well. 'Breaking Dawn,' the last installment, ends …

There is so much possibility for this series! It always seems to fall short of it's potential, though. As with the rest of the series, there is a major battle climax that is never completed. I expected more action than this, and I don't even care all that much for action. I get the feeling the writer is very non-confrontational by the way she truly avoids fight scenes.     This is the first book/series I have ever read that I can honestly say the movie looks BETTER. It seems …

Being with Edward Cullen has never been easy, as Bella Swan well knows, after nearly two years of brushes with death with her adopted vampire family. But she and Edward are finally ready to take the next step in their relationship by getting married, and then turning Bella into a vampire. It all rolls out without a hitch, and Bella and Edward are the picture of a blissful couple, until their honeymoon is rudely interrupted by a shocking event, putting not only Bella's life in danger, but the lives …

The trouble with Breaking Dawn, and it is trouble, is that the characters don't develop the way that they did in the earlier novels. The novel reads quickly enough, and I was interested enough to finish it, but in the end it was a disappointment. The plot tied things up neatly, everyone getting what everyone wanted. After reading it, you would expect to come away satisfied. Unfortunately, this story just doesn't seem right. Perhaps the author was determined to have a happy ending, and skewered the …
