The pace is on the slower side but the characters are likeable and the ending is fantastic.

A "Western" for Readers Who Aren't Usually Western Readers

I picked this one up because of the recently done TV movie which I enjoyed immensely. (I tend to like Westerns in films way more than in print.) To my surprise the book, though a little less tightly structured in terms of plot, was every bit as good as the film it inspired.
