Perhaps the most intimidating components of advanced video post-production are the color correction tools. It's easy enough to get the basics of cutting and arranging video and adding basic modifying effects. This book is admittedly much more advanced than what I was prepared for. It is more suited for someone with the know-how in operating a waveform monitor and a vectorsope and it definitely helps if you possess at least some knowledge of terms such as IRE, luma, graticule, ChromaDuMonde chart, and a whole host of other technical jargon.    If your knowledge of color correction doesn't go very far beyond the rudimentary concepts such as gamma, hue, saturation, and filters, you *could* …

For most of us who dabble in video, which probably covers 98% of those producing video, this book is informative, but constitutes massive overkill. We're simply not going to spend the money or the time with color correction, beyond whatever primitive capabilities are supplied in our video editing program(s) of choice.
