Creamsicle Stick Shivs

I was definitely in the mood for reading Creamsicle Stick Shivs today. I found this collection of poems witty, sarcastic, gritty and thoroughly enjoyable. The pieces within Creamsicle Stick Shivs comment upon various topics including cultural stereotypes, life lessons, and the world around the artist. Many of his works are presented in an over the top somewhat theatrical way using regional dialect and varying tone to further amplify the message.

If you are looking for a book of sappy love poems or spiritual inspiration, this book is definitely not the book you are looking for. However, if you are feeling a little cynical and are ready for a little raw truth, you will absolutely love this book.
