As the story opens, it is easy to believe that the author has included too many plotlines, there are jumps from one character to another and initially it is a bit confusing. However, once enough background has been established, it all closes up rather quickly and with the power of the heel of a hand to your chest. This is the first thriller I've read by Kava but it won't be the last. It's her tenth novel and the eighth featuring FBI profiler Maggie O'Dell, so I've got a good deal of reading ahead of me. O'Dell and medical doctor Benjamin Platt -they're falling for each other but move oh so slowly toward their first kiss--meet in Pensacola, Florida, as a Force five hurricane rushes in from the Gulf.
