I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in the Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child series involving the mysterious Agent Pendergast of the FBI, but I found Dance of Death a chore to get through. It becomes more readily apparent with each book that Lt. Vinnie D'Agosta is becoming more and more relegated to the role of Watson to Pendergast's Holmes. In this book, as always, Pendergast, holds his cards close to his chest and is seemingly omniscient, but he can't tell anybody anything; they just have to do his …
