A human upgrade! Imagine jumping ahead in evolution by several degrees, in a single generation. Reactions to those who have somehow "caught" the upgrade range from curiosity to damnation and murder. A view of humans in the near future who don't quite know what they've got hold of, and just how insane the population becomes. There's a brilliant sequel as well!
