Diabetes Management

Diabetes is a national crisis. The disease plagues
children, middle-aged people and the elderly.
The author suggests important modalities to help
diagnose and manage the disease. These include
monitoring/testing, exercise, prevention, foot care
and periodic comprehensive eye exams.

Classic aggravating factors are the following
(according to the author):
o iron (Fe. ) overload
o anti-hypertension drugs
o elevated blood glucose levels
o inherited genes
o hyperthyroidism causes the liver to produce extra glucose

The condition may be helped by cooking with herbs; such as,
ginger, tumeric or coriander powder. I've had a good experience
with cinnamon. Lastly, resveratrol is cited as being helpful
for reducing the adverse impact of aging.

Overall, this book would be extremely helpful for diabetics,
people in the pre-diabetic stage, people with inherited
diabetes in the family medical history and everyone
approaching their 40s.
