Dave Mckean created some great artwork for these covers. The uniqueness of these covers comes from the original idea (at the time, as editor Karen Berger comments) of not featuring Sandman at every cover; which allowed McKean to experiment and create these gorgeous covers. While its not a necessary part of your Sandman collection, seeing the covers without any text around them with additional commentary makes it worth my money.
