A book by Michael Pollan.
Reading this book was a complete shock for me. Things you wouldn't believe that are happening in the world to the foods we eat and the nutrition value, really are. There are mentions of tactics used by the Marketing dept to downright lie to consumers and "trick" you into buying "healthy" foods. One of the most memorable tidbits of information I read was the section titled "11 secrets the food industry doesn't want you to know".
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who is a consumer of foods (so I will guess here that this would mean YOU!) A book designed for concious and healthful eating. Great for mothers and fathers! "Eat This, Not That' is an informative piece of information that you can take with you wherever you go. That's right, take that baby to the GROCERY STORE! I carry mine in my purse because it truly is an addicting read It is over 318 informative and intriguing pages long, full of valuable information. I can't say enough about this book!! Must have!!
The message pouring out of this book is LOOK at what you are eating and learn that if you must eat junk food, at least "Eat This, Not That"!
This book is full of real life pictures of foods, herbs, meats, breads, desserts and drinks. It is chocked fut of....charts with many descriptive comparisons.
