A book by Michael Connelly

Bestseller Connelly's compelling 12th Harry Bosch novel (after 2005'sThe Closers) offers some new wrinkles on a familiar theme—the aging detective haunted by the one who got away. In Bosch's case, the elusive quarry is the man who abducted a 22-year-old … see full wiki

Harry Bosch is a detective working for LAPD's Open Unsolved Unit. Marie Gesto's 1996 disappearance, a case to which Bosch was assigned when he was in Homicide, was never solved. Her clothes were found neatly folded on the front seat of an abandoned car parked in the garage of a vacant luxury apartment but her body was never recovered and the case has eaten at Bosch ever since. Thirteen years later, Raynard Waits was pulled over in his van in the early morning hours in Echo Park but the traffic …

A hard driving, gutsy police procedural ... Harry Bosch is a detective working for LAPD's Open Unsolved Unit. Marie Gesto's 1996 disappearance, a case to which Bosch was assigned when he was in Homicide, was never solved. A definite notch in Michael Connelly's big belt of successes!

The unsolved murder of Marie Gesto has stayed with Harry Bosch since he first investigated the case in 1993. Now working in the Open-Unsolved Unit, Bosch routinely studies the case, looking for missed clues. When Bosch learns that a serial killer has confessed to the murder of Marie Gesto, he's thrown off balance. For years, Bosch has targeted another man for the murder. As validation, Bosch is required to take the killer's confession, then accompany him and other law enforcement officials to the …

This is about my fourth or fifth Harry Bosch novels and the author never fails to deliver. Harry working in the Cold Case Division of the LAPD is haunted by a woman's disappearance that he had never solved. He periodically takes out the file and reviews it and re-interviews all the contacts. Harry was always sure that the son of a rich lawyer was the culprit but could never pin the crime on him.     One day the LAPD captures an apparent serial killer who claims he had killed …

True, I'm a fan. Michael is one of the best crime writers around (THE BEST - if you ask me, but you know what they say, don't always compare)   Also he is much more than that. This is literature of the highest quality. Although I love all of Michael's books, this one stands out since it goes so deep. Not because it deals with a killer on the run, dirty politics, an unsolved murder case, the beloved hero-cop Harry Bosch.   When Michael writes down his images, you are there with …

Settling in with a new Harry Bosch book by Michael Connelly is like getting together with an old, close friend you haven't seen in a long while. Harry is still with LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit along with his partner, Kiz Ridder. Returning to the police force after a short, unsatisfying retirement, Harry still looks at cases from long ago, cases that he had a hand in, but were never solved.     One of these files concerns Marie Gesto, a 22 year old woman, who disappeared in 1993. …
