In recent years, America's superpower status had begun to fade. Faced with oil shortages and mounting debt, the US government fell into corruption due to poor choices. A monopoly media outlet became the voice of the government with opposing views often omitted. Additionally, America was no longer a completely sovereign nation. I've known the excellent fiction of Craig Parshall and I was intrigued with this pairing of Tim LaHaye and Parshall--so I tried this novel. From the opening pages, I plunged into a fascinating story which kept my attention until the final sentence.    I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm eager to read the sequel. I recommend it.
