A Page Turner, But...

Let me just say that I absolutely LOVED HeartSick and Sweetheart, the first two books in the Gretchen Lowell/Archie Sheridan series. Having been a fan of the Hannibal Lecter books, and equally fascinated by abnormal psychology (including serial killers), those were what I considered "perfect" books. We still "heart" Gretchen!!

This is the third of the series, and so far the weakest of the lot. This is not to say that it's not pretty durned good, as it's still definitely a one-sitting read, but it won't make your skin crawl in quite the same way that the first two did. There's more physical gross-out stuff, but the problem is that the mind-game shenanigans are sent to the back burner for most of the book.
