Who killed the Romanovs?

This book takes the conventional opinion of how the Romanovs died, and turns it on its head. According to the plot of the story, what really happened was not revealed, and there is a more sinister aspect to the deaths than had previously been suspected.

The protagonist is a former special investigator for the Tsar, and after the Revolution he is sent to Siberia, where he astonishingly survives for 10 years, until Stalin has him called back to society to look into the deaths of the Tsar and his family. It's a very exciting book, with action on just about every page, and it holds the interest of the reader until the very end.

I don't necessarily agree with the author's portrayal of Stalin, but it's his book, so I accepted it for the purposes of the plot. I understand this is the first book in a projected series about this investigator, and I can't wait to read the next installment!
