It's based on 4 ratings. Note there is only one reveiw. You can rate something without writing a review.

Hey Ed, it says that there are four ratings and one review, and the total is a +1 average. If you go to the
main topic page
, you can hover over the "4 Ratings" link next to the title of the book to see the breakdown of the total ratings on the site.
