Fits most pockets and some budgets

I suppose that eventually, online, up-to-the-minute, interactive travel guides will be available on hand-held devices that you can carry anywhere. Perhaps they already are, for all I know. Until then, this is the kind of guide I favor - small enough to carry in a pocket, containing all the essentials and updated each year. This is ideal for the first time/short term visitor. I live about 3 hours west of NYC and try to get into the city at least once a year, usually to see a show and eat at specific restaurants (which usually change with each visit).
