Thom put his soul on paper and he is allowing everyone a peek. He has been through so much and it's obvious that he wants this book to give hope to others. I applaud him for his courage and writing ability. This has to be one of my favorite autobiographies ever.

The author is one of four children in what is an extremely dysfunctional family unit. His younger brother Troy suffered from severe and untreated schizophrenia that was so bad that Troy beat their mother to death with a baseball bat. Furthermore, until the police captured Troy, the remaining three children all feared for their safety as Troy had threatened to kill them as well. All of the other three siblings had an initial reaction of hatred of Troy for what he did and this book is a pseudo-diary …
