A Good Primer for 4 1/2 Stars

  • Dec 6, 2009
The book describes the growing process for herbs.
Prior to picking, the herbs should be dried in well-shaded
areas with good ventilation. A few important herbs are
illustrated in the book. i.e.

o echinacea for colds, sore throat and sinus
o boswellia used for fever reduction
o chai-hu is an anti-inflammatory which protects the liver
o marigold is anti-fungal
o chickweed is used for itchy skin
o feverfew is an anti-inflammatory
o flax is an antioxidant and demulcent
o wild yam is an anti-inflammatory

I would utilize these herbs in consultation with a physician
familiar with the complementary medicinal protocols.
The Definitive Guide by Dr. Burton Goldberg is a good
reference work for vitamins and herbs.
