This book was so much better than I thought. For some reason I thought this was going to be a little cheesy, foppish tale about a young witch, I think my worries had to do with the cover - since I find it rather childish, but I was so mistaken. It was oh-so-good!    Sophie is a great heroine. I loved her attitude - she was snarky, funny, sarcastic, but caring, thoughtful and a great friend. I have a thing for witches and this one did not disappoint. There were the mean witches, …

Summary: When Sophie Mercer casts a spell that goes wrong, her father sentences her to Hecate "Hex" Hall. She gets off to a rough start after *almost* being attacked by a student, and being verbally taunted by the devilishly handsome Archer Cross. His girlfriend Elodie (along with her two best friends) are also out to make Sophie's life a bit more difficult. And on top of that, Sophie's stuck with the most hated student, Jenna, (who's also a vampire) as her roommate.     Then …

A light, fun read, Hex Hall entertained me for the couple hours that it took to read this novel. A great book to pick up for a bit of escape time...fans of the teen paranormal genre won't be disappointed, unless you like your books to have some depth. Taken at face value, Hex Hall is what it is, light, airy and entertaining, much like if Wizards of Waverly Place were translated into book form.     REVIEW: Sophie Mercer is a witch. She found out when she was 12 and since then …

Often while reading this I had to consciously slow myself down because I found myself tearing through it much too rapidly. Hex Hall is an easy, enjoyable read for me. Overall nothing really shocked me, a few surprises (such as Sophie's roommate Jenna, her father's role and certain character motivations), but nothing that made me go 'How did I miss that?'. For anyone who is currently reading young adult books with a boarding school and para-normalcy tied together a lot of the plot points will seem …

It always happens like this. There's always someone at Sophie Mercer's new school that she feels the need to help. Ever since she came into her powers three years ago, she's been able to. Of course, that doesn't mean she should, because Sophie's spells have a habit of working--too well. When Sophie's love spell causes a minor catastrophe at the school prom, her estranged warlock father is the one who decides her punishment. Now Sophie has to move again, this time to Hecate Hall, an isolated reform …

Sophie has known she is a witch for three years now, and has been dealing with it surprisingly well considering she has a human for a mom. But when a love spell for a fellow classmate is botched, her estranged warlock father decides she'd be better off at Hecate, known as Hex Hall to its students. A reform school for shapeshifters, faeries, witches, and warlocks, Hex Hall is not where Sophie wants to be. Especially since a series of mysterious deaths all seem to be the fault of Sophie's only friend …
