I absolutely adored this book. I agree with another reviewer; we need more fiction of this nature. Like Steinbeck, Pimentel knows the art of using his word palette sparingly to create realistic scenes of easily recognizable family function--and dysfunction. I loan my copy of this novel only to very trusted friends; it is on my Top 20 list of favorites. Whatever your cultural background is, if you love a good novel, you will find this one hard to put down once you begin. Bravo, Senor Pimentel!
