I Am Number Four chronicles the story of Number Four a/k/a John Smith. He is one of the nine children that were smuggled out of planet Lorien amid a devastating war with the Mogadorians. As their planet and everything and everyone on it was killed, nine children along with their nine guardians were sent to planet Earth. Their mission is to blend in with the inhabitants of the planet until they grow up and stay alive long enough (since they are still being hunted by their enemies), until their legacies …

This was such a good book, I can't wait for the next one.    John Smith is a 15 year old alien. His planet, Lorien was destroyed by the Mogadorians. Nine children, and their guardians, were sent to Earth in an attempt to safeguard them so they could come back to reclaim their planet. They will develop their Legacies, i.e. powers and then fight the Mogadorians. But, the Mogadorians are after them. The only thing is, they can only killed them in order. Three has been killed, it …

Wow, this book has a great concept. Nine children come to earth from a war ravaged planet, the last of their people, and they are seeking to hide amongst us until they come of age so they can come into their 'legacies' and kick some bad-guy fanny. The driving essence of the plot is that the kids are being hunted one-by-one by the bad guys who can only kill them in numeric order. And our hero, John, is #4 and #3 just got snuffed.    The fact that there's already a movie shooting …

They fled to earth, the closest planet with life, to hide among the humans and develop their Legacies so that one day, they would be able to fight back against the Mogadorians. But the evil enemy followed the Nine to earth, not only to finish what they started on Lorien. The Mogadorians want earth for a sinister plan, and the only ones with the power to stop it are the …

I love this book.    I love its premise, I love the depth of its characters, I love that it honors good dogs and animals. And, for lack of a better way to describe it, I love the kindness with which it is rendered.    "John Smith" is the false identity assumed by the fifteen-year-old protagonist when he leaves behind yet another town and finds himself in Paradise, Ohio with his guardian, Henri. The two are refugees from another planet, living under the guise …
