This book hooks you in from the beginning, you get a little history then BAM, the action is there! Reilly is a master of cliffhanger scenes, of making you unable to put down this novel because you just have to know what's going to happen.  If you enjoy action, black ops, or general military fiction, you will enjoy this book. There's a touch of romance (but only a touch), some comedy, much like anyone might crack a joke when they feel utterly hopeless, and even some fourth wall breaking …

Looking for a quick, entertaining read? This is a very good choice, as long as you can put up with the writers style.      Ice Station occurs within a scientific station on Antarctica. Apparently, the scientists have discovered a spaceship embedded in the ice, 1500 feet below the surface. Reading this book I couldn't help but think if Die Hard 4 were to be made as a prequel, this could be the story. The main character is so "John MacCleanish" that this could be MacClean's story in the Marines.The main character, Schofield heads a small batallion of marines to a scientific research station in Antarctica. The scientists have discovered "something" that must be secured until the proper authorities get there. What is not realized is several other supposed "ally" nations also know about …
