According to the author, today's immigrants are twice as
likely to launch a new business, a high rate secure advanced
degrees,immigrant founders are behind over half of new tech
start-ups in Silicon Valley alone. Lastly,immigrants are
more likely to patent new ideas, inventions and processes.

o Ying Wu of UT Starcom Inc. ( China)
o Alberto Sangiovanni and Vincentelli of

o Subrah S. Iyar, WebEx Communications (India )

The volume documents a marvelous partnership between
Chrysler and A123 Systems for the development of a
high-energy lithium battery for automobiles made by
Fiat. A $2B stimulus loan from the Advanced Technology
Manufacturing Incentive Program is targeted at
building plants to manufacture the new lithium car
batteries built by A 123 Systems.

Grama and White studied how milk was made in India.
Then, they proceeded to blend Grama's knowledge of
Thermodynamics with advances in photovoltaics.
The pair looks forward to manufacturing solar powered
refrigerators run by simple microprocessors. The solar
cooler could preserve cow's milk, yogurt and medicines
in villages throughout the world lacking electricity.

The authors cite a website which encourages new
entrepreneurs to discuss their ideas and strategies.


This work is a virtual goldmine for anyone seeking to start a
new business venture.
