The best Italian cookbook ever

When I lived in Italy, my parents sent me this book so I could improve my Italian cooking with authentic ingredients.  And I mean REALLY good ingredients, as in I would buy "Trentino Milk" at a store where I could see the pastors a few miles away. 

Jamie Oliver is a British chef known as "The Naked Chef" because of his fondness for using really fresh (or naked)  ingredients when cooking.  Though he is a handsome dude, I don't want to have any women to get the wrong impression that there are naughty pictures in this book. 

His writing style is very casual and you get a really good sense of his enthusiasm for food.  I like how he doesn't bother with measurements a lot of the time and instead says "a handful of basil" or "a dollop of butter." 

EVERYTHING I've ever made from this book has come out incredible with a few highlights being his "orgasmic" risotto (as a few friends put it), Baked Pasta with Chicken and Mushrooms, Chicken Cacciatore, Crostini, Pasta alla Norma, The Best Tuna Meatballs and a lot more.

This is one of my favorite books of all time and I think everyone with a passion for Italian cooking should check it out.

DesignDude - When it comes to Italian cooking, Jamie is all about authentic recipes, with only a few with his own, modern spin. LingsEatCake - Have you read "Kitchen Confidential?" I know chefs that swear by the truth found in Anthony's culinary insanity

Jamie Oliver is great, and his cookbooks are usually pretty easy to follow too. The Naked Chef makes orgasmic food, whodathunk? ;) That being said, I much prefer Anthony Bourdain, though more for his smart mouth, not for the cooking.
