Much has been made of the plot by other reviewers here, so I won't re-hash it, and I have to admit that the title of the book gave me pause. I'm no prude, but do I really want to read a book about the pornography industry?    Needless to say the industry itself is just the back drop to the life that the hapless Johnny has stumbled into, and people interested in the social history of the 1970s, when pornography became almost "mainstream" will find the author's treatment of the …

Frankly, I do not usually pay much attention to book blurbs because of how writers generally trade them among themselves, their special way of exchanging rather painless favors. But to Charlie Stella's credit, most of the blurbs on the cover of "Johnny Porno" come not from authors, but from newspaper and magazine critics.
