Indispensable reference guide that you will refer to again and again.

Believe it or not  2009 was the first time I ever purchased a Leonard Maltin Movie Guide. The brand new 2010 Guide is the 31st edition of this venerable publication that was first published way back in 1969 and it is now updated annually.  "Leonard Maltin's 2010 Movie Guide" features 17,000+ entries including more than 350 brand new ones.  Just in case you have not run across this book before the films are listed in alphabetical order and provide you with such pertinent information as the year of release, running time, the director, the major stars of the film and whether it was filmed in color or black and white.  Maltin then goes on to give an ever-so-brief synopsis and review of the film and and rates the film on a scale of one to four stars which the worst films designated as a BOMB.  Finally, there are easy to read symbols whereby Maltin indicates which formats the film is available in at the present time.

Knowing that I have "Leonard Maltin's 2010 Movie Guide" at my fingertips I find myself refering to it more and more frequently.  My wife and I enjoy viewing the films of the 1940's and 1950's and we are always on the lookout for films from this period that we have never seen before.  While I do realize that there are severe space constraints in a book like this I just wish the reviews were a tad bit longer.  But the reality is that we primarily utilize the Guide to discover whether or not we are interested in the subject matter of a particular film and are not all that interested in Maltin's opinion of it.   I have found  "Leonard Matlin's 2010 Movie Guide" to be a nice little addition to our reference shelf.  One cautionary note:  the print in this book is extremely small.  This fact may preclude people with poor eyesight from being able to use this book.   I am sure that there are better movie guides out there but for our purposes this book fills the bill quite nicely.   Recommended.
Indispensable reference guide that you will refer to again and again.
