A book by Sir Roger Moore

Like his James Bond movies, Roger Moore’s autobiography is full of unbelievable scenes, corny dialogue and a lead character who doesn’t take himself too seriously...full of humor, in praise of many and offensive to few (New York Post )

Roger Moore's autobiography
Roger Moore, who played "007" in seven movies, tells his life story in a witty and very readable memoir. He grew up in a loving family in London, where he fell in love with movies. Roger Moore is not my favorite Bond. Unfortunately for him, I felt his movies (with the exception of Live and Let Die and For Your Eyes Only) were too silly, over the top (A View to a Kill should NOT have been even made) and too much of a womanizer. But as a fan, not only of the James Bond movies but of Leslie Charteris' The Saint as well, and having heard little but nice things about Roger Moore as a person, this book appealed to me more than most in the genre. A fast and entertaining read, "My Word is My Bond" is also well-written with a casual tone, a little sexy without being salacious, and full of the kinds of insider …

Roger Moore tells the story of his life as he goes just past his 80th birthday, and what an interesting life it's been! From his early days in England all the way up to his years on "The Saint", and James Bond, up to now, when he's working for UNICEF, you'll read about all of it.    And what a fascinating read it is! Light and breezy, always interesting and never dull, especially once you get to the parts where he starts acting professionally. You'll learn everything you always …
